Marni Men’s Fall/Winter 2014 Collection

Marni’s introduced their Fall/Winter 2014 men’s collection that showcases a range of product that stretches from sport to classic, workwear to tailoring, utility to luxury, and army to office. In the end, we get a comprehensive wardrobe that’s ideal for daily wearing but with eclectic twists found throughout.

We spotted well-tailored suiting that’s slim and crisp and halfway between urban staple and work uniform. The crombie coat is seen in a textural vein while the trench is reduced to a blueprint. Other outwear includes inclusion of a bomber and parka, occasionally morphed into one. Function creates forms with a strong emphasis on texture while parkas are layered and extended. Sweatpants are brought in with matching crewneck jumpers, with both being actually knitted.

There’s a huge showing of the fur collar as it recurs throughout the lineup. Thrown in the mix are elements that shift the entire dynamic of the look. Look for printed silk shirts with matching ties worn under sturdy coats and knitted sleeves.

The color palette ranges from charcoal grays to came and from blue to black to army green. Prints alternate phytomorphic motifs with dynamic grids. Fabric choices include alpaca/wool blends, double-faced wool knit, and light twisted flannel.
