SIGMA has unveiled three new cameras to its dp Quattro lineup. Shown here is the dp2 Quattro, which features a wider, more elongated body compared to its predecessors. The goal is deliver a more balanced feel in the hand. Our focus is what’s on the inside as each camera features their newly developed Foveon X3 20 direct image sensor that’s said to deliver full-bodied image quality. With 20 megapixels on board and a faster TRUE III image processor, we’re expecting a huge leap in performance. The dp2 Quattro will come with a 30mm f/2.8 general purpose lens, while the dp1 and dp3 will respectively carry 19mm wide-angle and 50mm telephoto optics.
No word on pricing and availability yet but keep an eye on SIGMA’s site for when it drops.
