From Bell & Ross comes two new additions to their watch lineup, the BR 01 B-Rocket chronograph and the BR 03 B-Rocket. Both pull inspiration from this year’s unveiling of the 2014 B-Rocket Concept motorcycle that was designed by Shaw Harley Davidson. The 46 mm BR 01 B-Rocket features a large minutes counter, with tachymetric scale on the outer edge of the dial, which measures short periods of time. Three additional counters provide a 60-second, 30-minute and 12-hour counter. The small seconds counter, at three o’clock, instantly replicates the graphic display used in experimental vehicle testing. The BR 03 is more elaborate and comes in a 42 mm satin-brushed steel case. There’s a large date window and a power-reserve indicator with cut-outs in the dial revealing the discs operating the large date window. The circular power-reserve counter at 6 o’clock comes in a fuel guage-like design that we’re accustomed to seeing on racing motorcycles or cars.
Internally, both watches feature a self-winding Swiss mechanical movement, with a matte black dial that reminds us of a airplane instrumentation panel. The skeletonized hours and minutes hands are coated with a photo-luminescent material. There’s a red triangle at 12 o’clock that aligns with the triangle visible on the B-Rocket Concept bike’s tachometer and turbines. Both the BR 01 and BR 03 B-Rocket are fitted with a padded leather strap, lined and edged in red.
