Apple showcased the new MacBook at today’s Apple Watch keynote in Palo Alto, bringing forth the thinnest and lightest MacBook yet. In fact, it’s 24% thinner than the 11-inch MacBook Air. And it features an all-new, full-size keyboard that’s sits from end-to-end of the MacBook. A new butterfly mechanism makes each key more stable, more precise, and 40% thinner. Beyond that, an LED sits under every key, so the entire keyboard has a uniform glow. 3 million pixels are packed into the 12-inch Retina display, but this time using less power than ever. The new MacBook’s new, pressure-sensitive Force Touch trackpad is a standout feature as well with force sensors that can tell the difference between a light tap and a deep press. The Taptic Engine actually gives tactile feedback, letting you see and feel what’s happening on the screen. The new MacBook is also the quietest MacBook to date as it’s fanless while saving space and running 9 hours of web browsing. The MacBook’s USB-C port is five ports in one, allowing you to power while also accessing USB data transfer, DisplayPort, HDMI, and VGA capabilities. The new MacBook will come in two configurations, with prices starting at $1,299. The new MacBook will ship on April 10th in your choice of silver, space gray, or gold.
