“Entourage,” the movie continuation of the hit HBO series, hits theaters next week. To whet audience’s appetites, producer Mark Wahlberg dished about the inspiration for the show and the movie — his life. He admits that the genesis for “Entourage” was a proposed reality show that followed him and his lifelong friends around Hollywood. Not down with doing a reality show, he instead suggested a fictional version of that plot, with characters loosely based on his real-life entourage. HBO signed on and the show ran for eight seasons, drawing plenty of big names in the process.

“I remember when we were doing the pilot, we couldn’t get anyone to do a cameo,” Wahlberg says. “Then after the first season aired, people were calling us. We didn’t have enough room in the movie to put all the people who wanted to be in it.”

The list of cameos in the film is indeed impressive. Tom Brady, Calvin Harris, Jessica Alba, Liam Neeson and MMA fighter Ronda Rousey all make appearances, as does Wahlberg playing himself, naturally.

“Entourage” opens in theaters on June 3.
