CWST Spring/Summer 2016 at NYFWM: A Mojave Desert Inspiration

It’s been a while since The Riviera Club closed down, but its spirit lived on when its founders went on to establish CWST (pronounced “quest”). Retaining the familiar Californian style and flavor, the new CWST Spring/Summer 2016 is a cleaner, more swaggy take on Pacific-inspired, wear-anywhere apparel.

The CWST Spring/Summer 2016 collection was showcased at this week’s New York Fashion Week: Men’s. Inspiration came from the Mojave Desert with each look bringing out the exotic hidden features of a forbidding environment. The clothes emulate the desert’s long textured shadows, the chalk-like wildflower blooms, and the barren salt stone basins. It all adds up to a nicely-rounded collection of drop-shoulder tees, textured pants, and baggy jackets, all bathed in sharply-contrasting earth colors. CWST has only been around for two years, but what we’re seeing so far really has us excited for all the team’s hoping to accomplish now and into the future. See the collection below.
