Luxury car manufacturer Bentley has fully revealed the Bentayga, marking its official entry into the SUV market. The long-awaited build which started with 2012’s EXP 9 F concept, the Bentley Bentayga SUV is said to be the fastest, most powerful SUV on the market today.
Powered by a twin-turbocharged W12 engine, the Bentayga boasts 600hp of power, allowing it to hit 60mph in 4.0 seconds flat and hit a top speed of 187mph – just a smidgen better than the now-second-fastest SUV, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S. And yet still, this will be a proper SUV with off-roading capability. Drivers are able to select their surface while a hill descent system makes it easier to come down a steep grade.
As expected, prospective buyers will be invited to a truly Bespoke experience when building out their Bentayga. Owners can customize their Bentayga in a number of ways. They can even opt for a refrigerator, big enough for two wine bottles, to be installed in the trunk. At launch, the Bentayga will come in 4-, 5-, and 7-seater models, as well as in diesel or plug-in hybrid versions.
When its name was first announced in January this year, the Bentayga immediately gathered 4,000 pre-orders. Now that we know what it looks like and how it performs, we’re sure that number will continue to climb.
