International culture magazine Monocle has opened the Kioskafé in Paddington, London. It’s a newsstand-slash-coffee stand that celebrates the printed word, in response to what they call “the mistaken narrative that people aren’t buying print products.” Kioskafé’s shelves are lined with well-loved titles, commercial offerings, and just-launched indie titles.
The wooden coffee bar is designed by EDM Architects, and has Allpress coffee products and snacks on tap. What’s more, customers are treated to a selection of stationery, bags, umbrellas, and travel goods. Kioskafé London is strategically located at 31 Norfolk Place, London, W2 1QH – right next to the St. Mary’s Hospital and the Frontline Club (and its many journalists) across the street.
