‘Now You See Me 2’ Official Trailer: The Four Horsemen are Back

Now You See Me 2 Official Trailer-01

When Now You See Me debuted in 2013, the film about four Robin Hood-style magicians quickly became successful, grossing over $350 million worldwide. Now, as character Thaddeus Bradley’s (Morgan Freeman) voiceover in the trailer muses, “It was only a setup for an even bigger reveal,” The Four Horsemen are set to return in Now You See Me 2.

This time, the four magician do-gooders (played by Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, and newcomer Lizzy Caplan) are out to expose a young, powerful tech magnate who’s framing them as scam artists. Apparently, The Four Horsemen end up having to pull an impossible heist for the said tech kingpin.

If you’re wondering why Isla Fisher’s character couldn’t make it to the sequel, it’s because she couldn’t commit to making the movie as she’s currently pregnant. Lizzy Caplan, who starred in Masters of Sex, seems like a smart casting choice.

The movie also sees the return of Horsemen sponsor Arthur Tressler (Michael Caine) and FBI agent Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo), though it will be interesting to see the latter’s role in the story this time, considering the twist near the original movie’s ending.

Perhaps the most humorous addition to the cast would be Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the main antagonist Walter Mabry. You’d expect the guy who played Harry Potter to bring even just a little magic of his own to the story, right? Watch how he does at the end of the trailer below.

Now You See Me 2 is directed by Jon M. Chu, who also directed G.I. Joe: Retaliation. The sequel is set to hit theaters on June 10, 2016, and there’s talk that Now You See Me 3 is already in the works.
