Straight from IKEA’s Space10 innovation lab comes this design concept for an IKEA kitchen table that can charge your devices wirelessly. Aptly nicknamed Heat Harvest, the concept harvests heat from plates, saucepans, coffee mugs, and other hot items placed on the table surface and turns it into usable electricity. The concept hopes to roll out the technology via the popular IKEA kitchen table designs.
Conceived by Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID) students Sergey Komardenkov and Vihanga Gore, the heat harvesting pads can be integrated into other objects besides mere tabletops. Learn more about Heat Harvest and other great ideas at the Space10 website.
