The 1959 BMW 507 Roadster Series II is a gorgeous drop-top that served as the inspiration behind today’s popular BMW Z8. Now, one of these super-rare Bimmers will be up for auction at next month’s Design by Disruption in New York.
This BMW 507 has under its hood a 145 bhp V8 engine with dual carburetors and a four-speed manual transmission. It also features independent front suspension, hydraulic front disc and rear brakes, and a live rear axle with torsion bars.
With only 217 examples of the BMW 507 Series II ever built, RM Auctions is expecting to fetch, at the very least, a cool $2.3 million for this piece of history. (via Acquire)
