GREATS, makers of high-quality shoes and sneakers, has teamed up with Japan’s United Arrows & Sons for an exclusive new slip-on. Using the classic GREATS Wooster silhouette as the canvas, the GREATS x United Arrows & Sons slip-on uses the Japanese sashiko fabric to create a totally fresh look. Sashiko, which means “little stabs,” is a form of decorative stitching marked by white cotton stitches on indigo cloth.
United Arrows & Sons fonder Motofumi Kogi, known as “Poggy” in the industry, had been looking for an opportunity like this for a long time. The result of his collaboration with GREATS is a slip-on shoe with a sashiko and vegetable-tanned leather upper on a Margom sole. As with other Woosters, the collaborative slip-on features vachetta leather on the inner side.
The GREATS x United Arrows & Sons Wooster will be available online tomorrow (Thursday, Dec 10). Sign up for updates now, though – we’re told it will be released in limited quantities.
