Yesterday, in a historic move, Kanye West presented his Yeezy Season 3 collection inside Madison Square Garden and coupled it with the listening of his forthcoming album, The Life of Pablo. He sold out the arena and placed notable celebrities in the same seats as consumers. It’s one of the few times where we’ve seen fashion shows democratized and open to the general public. And though there were private invites sent out to key members of the media, friends, etc., Kanye gave regular folks the chance to see the collection at the same time as everyone else. And if you weren’t in New York City, Kanye also had the show streaming in theaters across the globe.
Now, as for the collection itself, the designer showcased over 40 looks between men and women, giving us a lot of what we’ve seen from Kanye in the past two seasons as well as some new pieces that shows West’s willingness to push the envelope. With over a thousand extras wearing the Yeezy Season 3 collection, it amplified the lineup’s direction. In the mix is a bomber jacket lined with shearling that really stands out while you can also expect loose-fitted pants, short-sleeved sweatshirts, puffer jackets and hooded zip-ups. And fans of the tattered knit Ye’s used in past collections can rest assured that it’s very present in Yeezy Season 3.
As expected, this will be a big year for Yeezy footwear, with reworks of the Yeezy Boost 350 on the way as well as a new boot, the Yeezy Boost 1050. The thousand-plus extras wore iconic adidas styles such as the Tubular, NMD, Gazelle, Stan Smith, and the Superstar. Check out all the looks from the collection below.
