Sotheby’s annual Monterey auction during this year’s Pebble Beach Concourse D’Elegance will be hosting the sale of this stunning right-hand drive 1966 Ford GT40. The original GT40’s were made for the track and actually built in England using American engines, aimed at crushing the competition at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and boy did it. While winning the race four consecutive times between 1966 and 1969, Ford also churned out thirty one of them for the street, with this red beauty being one of the seven that was sent to the US. And when Robert Ash got a hold of it back in ’84, he went to town, reworking the 400-plus horsepower V8 engine, its exhaust and piping and going black with the interior and a full-red exterior.

Check out this Ford GT40 in the gallery above and look for it to fetch a pretty penny in August at Sotheby’s Monterey auction.
