BEAMS Boutique has recently had a makeover, thanks to the expertise of Japanese architecture firm Torafu. Attempting to mimic an art gallery type space, designers put clothes on display – similarly to sculptures in a museum – to make sure that the garments were the focus of the layout. Featuring a flexible arrangement, the merchandise is organized on mirror-lined gray boxes that elongate the minimalistic boutique. In addition, the neutral color palette allows the clothing to truly stand out and be the focus of the room. Another highlight of the redesign is a large shoe display that has been artfully crafted to fill an entire wall with featured footwear in a sophisticated and uncluttered manner.
