PLAC SS17 Collection is Inspired by the Work of David Hockney

PLAC SS17 Collection

The PLAC Spring/Summer 2017 Collection debuted yesterday in New York City and brought with it a distinctly 60’s attitude, which had been revamped for the 21st century audience. The presentation was heavily influenced by the work of David Hockney, a prominent contributor to the Pop Art movement of the 1960s, and fused Hockney’s creative style with contemporary fashion. Many of the collection’s looks stuck to a muted color palette, which consisted of primarily black, white, brown, and gray and there was a certain quirkiness with all the shirts that came out unevenly buttoned. These styles contrasted with the bold pop art inspired backdrop, which served to further showcase the classic 60’s inspiration. Check out this David Hockney inspired collection in the gallery above.
