This year at the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach, BMW Group unveiled the 2002 Hommage, which pays tribute to the older 2002 Turbo. The 1973 model was known for being the first series-produced automobile in Europe to have turbo technology. After this precedent was set, the 2002 Turbo became known as a full-blown sports car that would pave the way for many future BMW luxury vehicles.

The 2002 Hommage was designed for a clean ride, sporting some excellent details like a long wheelbase, short overhangs and prominent “shark nose,” that get tied together by a compact frame that optimizes agility and comfort. Built for aerodynamic excellence, the spoilers on the front and the back of the vehicle pair with its intakes and exits for optimal airflow around the vehicle and an abundance of downforce for maximum control. The car is brought together by a sleek orange and black coloring that highlights its pronounced and boxy features. This sports car coupe brings together design elements of the past and the present, showcasing the journey that BMW has went on to get from one era to the next.
