Having moved from the westernmost part of SoHo to the heart of the neighborhood, the newest Rick Owens retail space has now opened on the intersection of Crosby Street and Howard Street. The new 6000 square-foot space will carry Owens’ mainline runway pieces, in addition to his DRKSHDW and Adidas collections and Michelle Lamy’s Hunrod jewelry. The first floor of the store carries accessories and footwear, scattered among sculpted rocks and jagged edges. The second floor speaks to the more traditional retail experience, showcasing Owens’ full ready-to-wear pieces. The space was curated by Lamy herself, making use of four main materials: concrete, mirror, steel, and white painted sheetrock. Sticking to the minimal and brutalist aesthetic exhibited by Rick Owens, the space is modern and understated, allowing the garments and footwear speak for themselves.
