Tudor Heritage Black Bay Steel Brings Stainless Steel Bezel and Date Window

With Baselworld fully underway, Tudor wasted no time introducing their latest creation, the Tudor Heritage Black Bay Steel reference 79730. Beautifully thought out, the Black Bay Steel comes in the classic 41mm stainless steel case but for the first time, it’s fitted with a stainless steel bezel and optional steel riveted bracelet. The bracelet’s thin and wets the appetite for anyone that’s appreciated some of Tudor’s vintage creations, especially considering they haven’t dropped a steel bezel in nearly twenty years.

It’s got everything else we already love from other Black Bays such as its matte black domed dial with dot and dagger lume plots as well as the shield logo right above the signature and the screw-down crown getting the Tudor rose engraved and lacquered in black. But for the first time, the Black Bay also gets a date window, right at three o’clock. Inside is Tudor’s in-house MT5612 movement, a variation of the first fully in-house movement from Tudor that was originally introduced in 2015. With a 70-hour power reserve, you can wear for days on in and not have to worry about losing time.

With all the vintage-inspired executions we’ve seen from watch brands in the past few years, the Black Bay Steel ranks at the top. It’s got a nostalgic feel that’s authentic in detail and carefully executed to perfection. Look for the Tudor Heritage Black Bay Steel to be available with either a steel bracelet or with a leather strap (both to be accompanied by an additional fabric strap), priced at $3,800 and $3,475, respectively.
