Inglourious Basterds Movie Posters

Movie Posters: Inglourious Basterds

Cannes already got a taste of Inglourious Basterds, but we just came across the movie posters and thought you’d like to see. They’re inviting to say the least, filled with a very grim outlook, but for a Quentin Tarantino film, we’re not surprised. The movie’s due out August 21st, with it making a few international releases before that.

Steve McQueen Car Show at the Boys Republic in Chino Hills, CA

Friends of McQueen Car Show Hosted by Boys Republic

Every year, Boys Republic, a school out in Chino Hills, CA hosts a car show in Steve McQueen‘s honor. Why Steve, you ask? Well, he’s the school’s most distinct student, as he spent a few years at the institution during his childhood. He gave much credit to the place and made sure they never forgot him and they haven’t. The doors are still open, thanks partially to McQueen and the crowd is still at a respectable number. We definitely hope that never changes.

twitter-maintenance-iran-tehran

With the current turmoil in Iran worsening, social networking site Twitter and its Co-Founder Biz Stone have decided to delay a crucial scheduled maintenance. Originally, the much-needed fix was scheduled for overnight, but has now been pushed to 2 to 3 p.m. Pacific time Tuesday, which would be the middle of the night in Iran.

NTT America, a division of Japanese telecommunications giant Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Co., hosts the micro-networking site, and they have taken a major risk in realizing the important role Twitter is playing in Iran, where most other social networking outlets like YouTube and Facebook have reportedly been banned.

Lakers Win Championship, Bryant Gets Fourth Ring, First MVP Trophy

Kobe, Lakers Win NBA Championship

When Sunday night’s buzzer rang, game 5 of the NBA Finals was over with Phil Jackson and the Los Angeles Lakers winning yet another NBA Championship. Superman Dwight Howard was not able to help his Orlando Magic come back from a 3-1 deficit against the unstoppable Kobe Bryant. He’s gotten his fourth ring, first without Shaq, putting all the naysayers (including myself) to rest. The man’s the purest shooter in present-day basketball, and even though he didn’t meet LeBron and the Cavs in this year’s Finals, this championship and Kobe’s first MVP trophy were both well-deserved. With 30 points in game 5, Bryant’s been a consistent force as he allowed the game to come to him and giving his teammates a lift when needed.

Tehran in Turmoil: Who is Iran’s President, Mousavi or Ahmadinejad

Chaos in Iran: Streets of Tehran after Presidential Elections

Iran’s Presidential elections did not going as smooth as the government had hoped. There was much bad-mouthing by rivals Mir Hossein Mousavi and incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad leading up to the elections and things got really out of hand post-election. Both men claimed victory but in the end, the government ruled in Ahmadinejad’s favor, bringing accusations of fraud and corruption.

The result of all this is a country in political unrest, with Mousavi supporters taking it to the streets of Iran head-on against public order police.
