Car Review: 2009 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster

The Truth About Cars recently did a review on this year’s Aston Martin Vantage Roadster and we think you guys should check it out.  It’s revamped on the outside to be just as sexy, if not sexier than the DB9.

Aston Martin engineers admitted to a British newspaper that they designed the Vantage by morphing Adriana Lima and a clone of Leonardo Da Vinci: a blend of emotionally irresistible and mathematically precise curves and planes.

Blu-ray releases: Week of August 25th

This week, there’s a good mix of goodies coming out on Blu-ray.  We’ve got the “Action Starter Pack” that’s got Miami Vice, End of Days, and U-571, which we think is a pretty odd group, but good nonetheless.  Season 1 and 2 of Heroes is going to be out on Blu-ray as well.  Ashton Kutcher’s on two of the movies on the list, unless there’s a cameo we’re missing on The Secret.  Check out the list and let us know what you’re going to grab!

The Campaign: “Get Chucked” John Varvatos x Converse

Chucks have been a pillar in men’s fashion for decades.  They’ve left the scene and came back stronger than ever a few years back.  They’ve been imitated but never duplicated.  Upscale brands have taken alot of inspiration from Converse, but when Converse starting collaboration efforts with John Varvatos, it put everyone on their heels (no pun intended).  This fall’s ad campaign titled, “Get Chucked,” does a great job showing how a gifted designer mating with an old school classic can be so rewarding.

Aston Martin has teamed up with Jaeger-LeCoultre to create something special.  A wrist watch that can start your car?  This is a piece that 007 had years ago.  We were kept in the dark, but not anymore! No special effects here, this is real.  The AMVOX2 DBS Transponder is a sleek watch and it also has a transponder built in that will start your DBS.

They Need Us: Hope North Uganda

For the past 20 years, a brutal civil war has devastated Northern Uganda. Thousands of child victims of the conflict are now emerging with no home or family awaiting them. They have been labeled the lost generation.  Recent struggles in Sudan and Rwanda have captured countless news coverage and pledged donations, yet, the country in the middle has suffered.   “Doctors Without Borders” recently named the conflict occurring in Northern Uganda as one of the top 10 must under reported Humanitarian tragedies in 2005.

That’s all about to change we hope.  The Gentlemen’s Fund, Citi, and Forest Whitaker have partnered with Hope North to take action.

Sony unveils strap-on for PS3 controllers

Get your head out of the gutter.  At its Leipzig Games Convention press conference, Sony pulled out a wireless keypad for the PS3 that fits so snug on top of your Sixaxis or Dualshock3 controller.  It’s a neat little device.  It’s kitted with the PS button, a select and start button because it covers those 3 buttons up when it’s attached.
