Blu-Ray releases: Week of August 3rd

Every man wants an HDTV.  If any women are reading this, take note of this for your husbands, boyfriends, best friends, etc.  If your TV is already HD, then you should have also upgraded your DVD player to a Blu-Ray player.  If you haven’t then we suggest you go do that right now.  Yes now.  Every week, we will let you know what movies are coming out on Blu-ray so definitely look out for that.

Here’s this week’s releases:

Simple, yet elegant Spult remote control

Tired of those “All-in-one” remotes with a 40 buttons, 35 of which you have no idea what they’re for?  So are we.  Luckily for us, Yurii Smitana Perfilov has designed the “sPult” remote control.  Inspired by iPod’s scroll wheel, this neat package comes with it’s own scroll variant for channel surfing with the greatest of ease.

Android is for the masses, iPhone for the rich?

Recently, Last100 got a chance to interview Nicolas Gramlich, founder of an online community for android developers, anddev.org.  Android is Google’s mobile operating system and competes with the likes of Apple’s OSX for iPhone and Nokia’s Symbian open source OS. Gramlich said that “there will be a great variety of Android devices all over the world, where there will always be just the iPhone.”

Yahoo reimbursing Yahoo Music customers

Yahoo just before the weekend announced that its digital management servers would be taken down.  Since their music files are DRM-protected, the use of the files would be severly limited.

Carrie Davis, spokeswoman for Yahoo Music, told InformationWeek, “You’ll be compensated for whatever you paid for the music.”

Bill Maher’s Dickheads of the Year

Bill Maher announced his list of biggest assholes of 2007 recently and we just thought we’d share it with you.  If you want to avoid such a list, be sure NOT to electrocute a dog (Michael Vick), say a mining accident was caused by an earthquake, when seismologists disagree completely (Bob Murray), or try to get it on with a stranger of the same sex in a public restroom (Sen. Larry Craig).

Moo announces full-sized business cards

Moo.com is launching full-size business cards after heavy demand from customers.  Card design will still use the same Web-based editor that’s been available for Moo’s other products, although users will be getting more than twice the size they’re used to with Moo’s flagship mini cards.

Cazal and Dita collaborate on the Cazal 902

Wow, only 1,500 pairs of these?!  The Cazal 902 are design and luxury at their finest.  The collaboration between eyewear companies Cazal and Dita will definitely get the attention of on-lookers, whether it’s your neighbor or your boss.  Unfortunately, they’re only sold in Berlin with a steep pricetag.
