GJ Cleverley For HODINKEE Russian Reindeer Leather Straps

Hodinkee continues to drop some really impressive product and this time, they’ve wrapped up a collaboration with GJ Cleverly, one of the last old school shoemakers known the World over. The duo teamed up for a very limited run of leather straps made from Russia Leather, a specially tanned reindeer leather recovered from a shipwreck dating to 1786. A short history lesson — Russia was renowned for their leathers back in the eighteenth century and one closely-guarded tanning process resulted in a water resistant leather with a rich reddish brown color, a cross-hatch patter, and a very unique smell. Then came the Russian Revolution and after 1917, production was stopped and the tanning process was lost to history.

Nike is set to release the first colorway from their Nike+ FuelBand SE’s METALUXE Collection. The limited edition Rose Gold colorway takes a high end approach and features a clasp, bezel and screws made from 316 series stainless steel. The components are then hand polished to a mirror finish and given a durable PVD coating, all coming together for a refined finish.

The Rose Gold Nike+ FuelBand SE will be available in limited quantities from select retail locations and nike.com beginning Nov. 21, 2013 for a suggested retail price of $169.

HODINKEE has teamed up with motoring lifestyle brand Autodromo to deliver their latest work, the Stelvio sunglasses. Completely handmade in Japan, they’re named after the famous alpine pass – one of the finest driving roads in Italy – with each pair requiring over 130 operations to build and a month to complete. They are laser etched with a serial number, and made of the highest quality amber acetate in the world, with polarized cognac lenses. Each pair comes with a quilted leather carrying case inspired by some of our favorite vintage Ferraris. Numbers are limited here as only fifty pairs will be made.

Building on the doubled edged safety razor, Baxter added a badger hair shave brush and stand to the mix creating its first ever shave set. They are both engraved with a pattern that borrows design elements from the classic barbershop pole.

HODINKEE continues their relationship with Drake’s Of London as they’ve collaborated on another knit tie and added in a pocket square to the mix as well. The tie is again a silk knit (best on the market in our opinion), but this time, it comes in a beautiful red finish with gilt, hand-sewn dots. HODINKEE’s Heritage Tie could be the only red tie you’ll ever want to own. It’s inspired by the Tudor Black Bay, a gorgeous modern dive watch, and the HODINKEE team worked closely with the Drake’s to ensure the color match between the tie and the Black Bay’s bezel and gilt dial was spot on. Mission accomplished.

HODINKEE’s first foray into the pocket square market comes in the form of their Snowflake Square, which is inspired by another Tudor beauty, the Tudor Pelagos. The detail and craftsmanship is unparalleled as the thin silk square has hand-rolled edges and a great feel. The black and white colorway gives it a ton of versatility as well.

The HODINKEE Heritage Tie is available now for $155 and the Snowflake Square is as well for $72, both through the HODINKEE Shop. Until they undoubtedly sell out of course.
