MFW | Ermenegildo Zegna Fall/Winter 2013

From Milan comes looks at Ermenegildo Zegna’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection. The label is known for well-crafted suits and that’s definitely the case here. Expect impeccable pinstripes and “sportified” accents infused into the more formal garments. The palette’s filled with shades of grey reminiscent of asphalt, steel, cement and granite. The tones are brightened with flashes of white and deep green. Classically cut coats, made from feather-light spazzolino, the prized alpaca fabric launched by Agnona in the Seventies, were showcased alongside double-breasted and elongated suits, immaculate shirts with refined collars and matching cummerbunds that raise the waistline.

Zegna‘s latest lineup of accessories are ideal for brief trips and feature a bold character thanks to compact shapes and usage of a bicolor metal. The footwear’s made with hand polished calfskin just like the bags and come in a range of styles including travel bags, hold-alls and computer bags reinforced by handmade piping and fitted with handles and interior compartments.

Milan Fashion Week | Ermenegildo Zegna Fall/Winter 2012 Show

Ermenegildo Zegna Fall/Winter 2012 Men's Show at Milan Fashion Week

Ermenegildo Zegna showed one of the most wearable collections of this week’s Milan Fashion Week. The Fall 2012 collection is filled with a wide range of pieces, both formal and casual. The world’s finest materials are utilized throughout the line, fabrics we’ve never seen in our lives. The warm knit shown above is one of our favorite pieces but it is far from the only. The colors are inspired by Oasi Zegna, a natural paradise belonging to the family, with various shades of wood brown, hazelnut, snow white, the okra of dry leaves and midnight blue. Blended together they create plaids, checks and chevron patterns, often mixed together to form nonchalant patchworks. The elongated silhouette of suits with two-button, natural-shouldered jackets gains volume in the outerwear featuring blouson and raglan-cut jackets. Also seen are hints of Napa leather and shearling while trousers can be found in faded corduroy Cashco.

Zegna’s fall offerings are surely ones that will be worth the wait. Enjoy more looks courtesy of the Italian label below.

Ermenegildo Zegna Fall 2010 [Milan Fashion Week]

Ermenegildo Zegna’s Fall 2010 collection is one even my father will appreciate. Sure, the fashion house is not as reserved as it once was, but their craftsmanship and attention to detail has remained consistent over the decades. The slim silhouettes and the use of handpicked fabrics is what appeals to us most. Besides, tailored suiting is nothing new to Zegna, in fact it’s where they’ve reigned supreme for quite sometime.
