Comme des Garçons Fall 2010 [Paris Fashion Week]

Comme des Garçons Fall 2010 [Paris Fashion Week]

Comme des Garcons‘ Fall collection is filled with a unique set of pieces with looks that really push the envelope. We never we’d see it but the models were wearing shorts over their pants. Rei Kawakubo, CDG’s designer, presents us with everything we’d never expect and a little bit of the norm to keep the masses at bay. Some of the highlights include fur coats and vests, relaxed pants made from warm fabrics and fur-lined snorkel hats.

Adam Kimmel Fall 2010 [Paris Fashion Week]

Adam Kimmel Fall 2010 [Paris Fashion Week]

Paris Fashion Week is underway and while we may be a day or two late with the updates, rest assured our favorite collections are timeless to say the least. We initially didn’t know what to expect from Adam Kimmel‘s Fall 2010 collection, as the New York-based designer has been known to change directions from time to time. The approach Kimmel took to display the line was interesting in itself as each model sports a mask we weren’t expecting to see until October. In the collection, expect well-fitted denims, fine knits, and a great lineup of suits.

Moncler Gamme Bleu Fall 2010 [Milan Fashion Week]

Moncler Gamme Bleu Fall 2010 [Milan Fashion Week]

Moncler Gamme Bleu is a favorite for some of us here and with good reason. When you mix a European skiwear company with a former designer of the year that’s known for his well-fitting suits, you seldom go wrong. In this collection Thom Browne’s passion for fit is apparent. Pieces from Moncler Gamme Bleu’s Fall 2010 collection like the performance-styled anoraks, down-filled blazers, and quilted wool pants, will not only fit you as well as your suits do, but they will also be flexible, giving you the best of both worlds.

John Varvatos Fall 2010 [Milan Fashion Week]

John Varvatos Fall 2010 [Milan Fashion Week]

The Autumn 2010 collection for John Varvatos is what we’ve come to expect from the New York-based designer. GQ Eye tells it best, “Something for the rock gent in all of us. Fingerless gloves? Check. Feathery-thin Steven Tyler scarves? Of course! Dark skinny suits and vests? Got ’em. Oversize chunky cardigans? Okay, not so rock, but got them, too. In other words, Varvatos doing Varvatos—which is what he does best.”

Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2010 [Milan Fashion Week]

Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2010 [Milan Fashion Week]

As day 2 of Fashion Week in Milan began while the majority of us were sleeping, we thought it would be nice to get you up to date on some of the best. Italy’s own Salvatore Ferragamo had a great show, with a welcomed blend of thick fabrics and well-tailored suitings. With the majority of pieces being in neutral finishes like black and dark blues, the collection also features a pop of character with colors like orange and burnt red.

Costume National Fall 2010 [Milan Fashion Week]

Costume National Fall 2010 [Milan Fashion Week]

Italian fashion house Costume National has blessed the runway in Milan, and now it’s time to turn you to the collection. GQ Eye describes it as, “An army of dark suits for the man who doesn’t wear suits, complete with drawstring trousers, zippered pant pockets, chewed-up edges, and fuzzy sleeves. All paired with high-reaching turtlenecks and I-don’t-have-a-day-job motorcycle boots.”

Ermenegildo Zegna Fall 2010 [Milan Fashion Week]

Ermenegildo Zegna Fall 2010 [Milan Fashion Week]

Ermenegildo Zegna’s Fall 2010 collection is one even my father will appreciate. Sure, the fashion house is not as reserved as it once was, but their craftsmanship and attention to detail has remained consistent over the decades. The slim silhouettes and the use of handpicked fabrics is what appeals to us most. Besides, tailored suiting is nothing new to Zegna, in fact it’s where they’ve reigned supreme for quite sometime.

Jil Sander Fall 2010 [Milan Fashion Week]

With Milan Fashion Week now in full swing, we’ll be highlighting a few of our favorite labels, starting here with Jil Sander. For Fall 2010, the German-bred designer stays true to his minimalist approach. The presentation is flawless with pieces we personally can not wait to get our hands on come next winter.

Spring 2010: Bottega Veneta [Milan Fashion Week]

Bottega Veneta Spring 2010 at Milan Fashion Week

From The Fashionisto comes Bottega Veneta’s unveiling of their Spring 2010 collection at Milan Fashion Week. The collection is filled with inspirational color schemes including muted shades of browns and deep burnt reds. So what are some pieces to look for come Spring 2010? For starters, the collegiate jacket is still in play as well jogging style trousers, tye dies, rich prints and sheer knits. Take note of the narrow pinched shoulders on the blazers, a subtle yet defining change.
