Fall 2009: Double Identity Diver Boot

Fall 2009: Double Identity Diver Boot

Oak has got some fine kicks in stock from one of our favorite labels, Double Identity. This season, they’ve dropped the Diver Boot in three different varieties, all within a fairly reasonable price range. First up is the Black Pony, which is a multi-textured boot fitted with fur, suede and leather. The remaining two are canvas high-tops in white and black flavors, with two suede straps and coated laces.

Opening Ceremony Suede Desert Boot

Opening Ceremony Deep Blue Suede Desert Boot

We’ve never been big fans of desert boots but Opening Ceremony‘s latest refinement is one we can definitely get behind. The N.Y. based label’s been endorsing desert boots for quite sometime, but we first came across their M2 desert boot a few months ago and we’ve been impressed ever since. This season’s version is made of 100% Italian deep blue suede with a standout leather sole. They’re versatile and perfect for just about any pairing, something desert boots of seasons past have not been able to accomplish.

Kris van Assche Footwear Spring/Summer 2010

S/S 2010: Kris Van Assche Footwear

With the direction of Selectism, we bring you Kris Van Assche‘s S/S 2010 footwear lineup. “Van Assche continues to refine his theories on footwear design while keeping the overall aesthetic in line with prior seasons. Both the high top and low top sneakers in the collection feature an interesting lacing system. In terms of colors they kept it simple, which was a good move. On top of the sneakers, Van Assche also presents some nice suede loafers and lace-ups, along with some interesting high rise technical boots.”

Rachel Comey’s Fall 2009 Lookbook

Recently, we brought light to Rachel Comey pieces that are currently available at Oak. Now, we’re fast forwarding to the label’s Fall 2009 collection with their recently released lookbook. Shot in Brooklyn, New York at the home of a little girl named Sasha and her dad, the lookbook gives us a closer look at Rachel Comey’s standout leather and suede oxfords.

Here’s what The Fashionisto had to say:

The lookbook coincides with the idea of footwear that is timeless and unaffected by environment. Smart, chic, and understated, Comey’s collection is right at home in nearly any wardrobe. For those shoe aficionados attempting to express some self-restraint this upcoming season, Comey tempts with a slouchy pair of rich brown boots.

S/S 2009: Double Identity Footwear

London based footwear Double Identity has popped up on Oak’s online store, having us glued to the screen and our wallets in hand. Three of their styles are currently available — the apron suede sneaker, 2-strap sneaker, and the paul boot.

The apron suede sneaker is a slip-on with a contrasting panel, leather trim and a leahter buckle at front. The 2-strap sneaker is a black creased leather high top that laces up through silver rivets. Two buckled straps fasten to the outside of foot. The paul boot is another high top with seam details creating a ribbed effect and an exposed metal zipper at the side.
