Leica X2 White Limited Edition Camera

To mark the opening of the Daimaru Shinsaibashi Leica store in Osaka, Japan, Leica has released the X2 in a white leather shell with all the quality and detail the Leica brand has to offer. The X2 packs 16.2 megapixels and comes with a 24mm Leica Elmarit lens. Only 100 pieces of this limited edition camera will be available at the Osaka Leica shop on Wednesday, March 13th.

Originally founded in 1997 by Kiyofumi Awai in Osaka, Japan, Creep is now a label now offered in select U.S. stores. Hiroshi Awai took over as menswear creative director last year, brining a new direction to the project. Hiroshi has focused his energy on fusing his Japanese designs with classic American work-wear.  Online retailer Blackbird has a few pieces from Creep’s fall/winter collection, including these herringbone vest and pant separates.

The waistcoat is a wool+acrylic+polyester blend, fitted with 100% cotton lining and back and wood buttons. “This thoughtfully made vest features a curved notch lapel, two small buttoned chest pockets, flap pockets, a subtle ticket pocket on the front, and a striped, cream-colored cotton back.”

Buraku Journey in Osaka by Ian Laidlaw

A photo journey by Ian Laidlaw, the photographer travels to the Buraku area of Osaka. The Burakumin are a Japanese minority group consisting of around 3 million people in about 6,000 communities. Their ancestors were classes as outcastes during the Tokugawa period (1603-1868) due to their occupations. They are still discriminated against today.
