Malibu Beach Inn room service via iPhone

With all this talk about the G1 releasing tomorrow, the iPhone’s been getting pushed to the backburner.  It doesn’t mean that the takeover is not occuring.  Take the Malibu Beach Inn for example.  They’ve just integrated iPhone/iPod Touch usage into their room service.

The Malibu Beach Inn is actually giving each guest a loaner iPod Touch for the duration of their stay so that they can access a web app made especially for Safari.  The app allows guests to do an assortment of things, including ordering room service, schedule a wake-up call, requesting luggage, or even renting a limo.

They’ve avoided the long arm of the Apple certification process and have even made it so the app will be compatible with other devices in the future.
