New Years Eve in Times Square left 40 tons of garbage

One million people packed in to Times Square last night and boy did they leave a mess. The confetti and noisemakers plus all the other garbage people left equated to an estimated 40 tons.

After the ball dropped, the workers got busy and started cleaning up. Over a 150 people worked until 8 am before another shift arrived to tidy up. The 25 mph winds didn’t help.
