Diamond no longer world’s hardest material, still girl’s best friend

diamond-world-hardest-material

Our friends at Luxuo are reporting that scientists no longer believe that diamond is nature’s hardest material. The gemstone is replaced by a rare natural substance, called lonsdaleite, which is made from carbon atoms just like diamond. According to a report in New Scientist, lonsdaleite is 58 per cent harder than diamond.

Unfortunately, diamond is still a girl’s best friend meaning our pockets will still be getting drained.
