Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli deliver arguably one of the best collections from this week’s Paris Fashion Week in Valentino’s Spring 2012 lineup. The pieces are well-cut and offer up some wonderful detailing that’s luxurious but wearable at the same time. Look for military and safari jackets, K-Ways and camp shirts, cargo shorts and hooded parkas but these pieces shouldn’t be mistaken for anything you’ll find at your local army surplus shop. It all comes down to details, folks, and you’ll notice it throughout the collection. For example, the featherlight unlined chambray blazers are woven through with silk to catch the light and the parka’s plaid is patchwork, not print.
