Boxing legend Joe Frazier, former champion and first to ever beat Muhammad Ali, has passed away at the age of 67 from liver cancer. “You can’t mention Ali without mentioning Joe Frazier,” said former AP boxing writer Ed Schuyler Jr. “He beat Ali, don’t forget that.” They fought three times, Ali and Frazier, and each time, both fighters gave it their all, even in the “Thrilla in Manila” where both fighters really left it all in the ring. I think that’s what we’ll remember Joe for — his resilience. That and the fact that he was one of the most standup guys to put on a pair of gloves. He was lighthearted and will forever be engraved in boxing history.
