Facebook Paper iPhone App

Introducing Paper from Facebook, a new app that aims to help you explore and share stories from friends and the world around you. As with all things Facebook, the goal with Paper is to make beautiful storytelling. The design is clean yet rich in detail and offered in a fullscreen, distraction-free layout. Crafting stories of your own are now easier as well. Paper’s like a hybrid of Flipboard where you have control over what you see in your stream.

There are stories and themed sections, so you can follow your favorite interests. The first section in Paper is your Facebook News Feed, where you’ll enjoy new designs for photos, videos, and longer written posts. Paper is fully customizable so you can pick from more than a dozen other sections about various themes and topics—from photography and sports to food, science and design. Each section includes a rich mix of content from emerging voices and well-known publications.

Everything responds to your touch so you can pick up or thumb through stories with simple, natural movements. One of the things that we really liked was the ability to tilt your phone to explore high-resolution panoramic photos from corner to corner, and see faces and other important details up close. Videos autoplay in fullscreen while detailed covers make it easy to spot articles from trusted publishers. Articles unfold in the app and appear fullscreen for a focused reading experience.

Check out the video above to get a sense of Paper before it hits the Apple App Store for iPhone on February 3rd.
