Dockers has unveiled their Wellthread Collection, a line of apparel that combines sustainable design with good environmental practices that supports the well-being of people who make the garments. Dockers is being more specific about design and as result, they’re using fewer factories and fabrics. Not only that but they’ve also looked back at their archives to gauge product life cycles and used that a base for creating a pilot collection of khakis, jackets, t-shirts and casual shirting. The pieces are made from durable materials while the construction is reinforced at points of stress and with stronger buttonholes. The collection also utilizes specialized garment-dyeing to reduce both water and energy consumption. Every piece in the Dockers Wellthread lineup was designed with recyclability in mind so you’ll notice each garment uses 100% cotton, thread and pocketing, while the sundries include compressed cotton or metal that can be easily extracted by magnets.
