Introducing the 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Convertible, the first Z06 Convertible to be offered up since 1963 when the Z06 option package was introduced for endurance racing. They did good here by delivering the same amount of power we’ve in the C7 Z06 Coupe while also being able to keep the car at nearly the same weight as its sun-blocking sibling. That’s 625 horsepower and 635 pound-feet of torque mated to a 7-speed manual transmission with all the trimmings like the optional Z07 Performance Package, which adds Brembo carbon-ceramic matrix brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires and adjustable front- and rear-aerodynamic components. The aluminum frame of the car doesn’t require and structural reinforcement so we’re looking at no additional weight add-ons. The drop top is made of a thick fabric that’s offered in four colors along with sound-absorbing padding and a glass rear window.
The 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Convertible will be making its debut this week at the New York Auto Show.
