Obscura has dropped the fourth volume of BlackBird Automotive Journal entitled “Mastercraft”. Volume 4 features a Ferrari 500 Mondial on the cover with a close look at everything from its revival by master restoration specialist Andy Greene to its reunion with the famed Mille Miglia. The studio of French artist Yan Denes gets a visit here also, as BlackBird showcases the artist’s pencil and pastel drawings of key autos and auto-racing scenes. A key feature in the publication is around legendary racing photographer Louis Klemantaski, with excerpts pulled from his handwritten memoirs and in-car photographs as he co-drove alongside Ferrari racing legend Peter Collins as they blitzed through the 1957 Mille Miglia. Furthermore, we get some tremendous looks at the Ferrari 458 Speciale as well as the McLaren 650S. BlackBird Automotive Journal Vol. 4 is available now as a set alongside Obscura Vol. 16.
