Club Monaco Takes Over Upper East Side Private Residence for Fall 2015 Presentation
Umbrellas became an unexpected accessory during Club Monaco’s preview of its Fall Collection last week. Although the event was held at a private Upper East Side townhouse transformed to reflect the look, design and feel of Club Monaco’s flagship stores, most of the collection was modeled in the intimate backyard garden. When the rain began to fall, models shielded themselves with clear umbrellas. Rather than upstage the clothes, the weather highlighted the practicality of the collection’s blend of luxe leather, cashmere and tweed in sleek blacks, cozy grays and earth tones.
Inside, guests got a taste of the Club Monaco experience at its flagship stores in New York, Hong Kong, Montreal and London. Billed as a curated fusion of food, fashion and flowers, guests got a closer look at pieces of the collection stacked high on stools and tables. Mads Refslund, executive chef at Acme, cooked during the event while guests sipped custom cocktails from mixologist Søren Krogh of Noma in Copenhagen.
