Four years after the first release of the Facebook Messenger mobile app Facebook has decided that it’s time for Messenger to get its own website as well. Messenger.com has been developed for users who want to be able to send messages using Facebook but without the added distractions of Facebook profiles and news feeds. Chatting will still remain a feature on the main Facebook website, but those who want to keep it simple can now use Messenger separately on any platform. You also don’t need the Messenger mobile app to be able to use it on Messenger.com. The web-based version of Messenger is out now and will progressively be launched in other languages as well.
