Showtime has released the first trailer for the new financial drama series Billions. The show will star Paul Giamatti as Chuck Rhoades (a politically connected U.S. Attorney) and Damian Lewis as Bobby ‘Axe’ Axelrod (a blue-collar billionaire hedge fund king). The series will feature a high stakes game of predator versus pray in a 21st century take on the ups and downs of pursuing high profits as part of the American dream.
The first 12 one-hour episodes are being shot on location in New York. The show is written and produced by Brian Koppelman, David Levien, and Andrew Ross Sorkin. The pilot was directed by Neil Burger (famous for Divergent and The Illusionist). Billions will also feature performances by Maggie Siff, Malin Akerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile, and Condola Rashad.
The first look at Billions will air on Sunday the 12th of July during the third season premieres of Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex. Billions will premiere on Showtime in early 2016.
