Christian Bale will portray Enzo Ferrari in a biopic based on the book ‘Enzo Ferrari: The Man, The Cars, The Races’ by Brock Yates. The film will be directed by Michael Mann and set in 1957, when Ferrari dealt with the deathly crash of Spanish Ferrari driver Alfonso de Portago. The crash happened in de Portago’s Ferrari 335S during the Mille Miglia and killed the driver, his co-driver Edmund Nelson and nine spectators at the event, including five children.
This is the second Enzo Ferrari biopic we’ve heard is in production following the announcement that Robert De Niro will also star as the iconic automaker in a movie based on his autobiography ‘Ferrari 80’. Keep an eye out for release dates.
