Polaroids by Andy Warhol

polaroids-by-andy-warhol-1

Legendary pop artist Andy Warhol carried a Polaroid camera around with him from the 1950’s until his death. During the period from 1958 to 1987 he took photographs of many celebrities like Alfred Hitchcock, Yves Saint Laurent, Grace Jones, Jack Nicholson, and Debbie Harry. The portraits offer a retrospective look at his life and a gateway into better understanding the artist. The 560-page edition entitled ‘Polaroids’ features hundreds of instant photographs that Warhol took of his friends, lovers, experiences, and encounters with famous persons. The book was created in collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation and can be purchased from Taschen.
