Nowadays, a lot of my time is spent traveling so I tend to weigh comfort over everything else. And with the weather getting a bit cooler, it’s now more important than ever. But as much as it is a necessity, layering also gives you a chance to get more creative with your outfits. Control your temptation to go lightweight for the sake of fashion. It’s just not worth it! Check the weather or setup alerts on your phone so you’re not hit with any surprises. It’s the worst when you’re wearing a tee when you should be pulling from the heavier side of your closet. If you don’t know where to start, I’d suggest investing in wearable, versatile mid-layer pieces like cable-knit sweaters in a range of colors. This is where a clean suede bomber really wins out. It works as a great top layer but you can also toss a coat right over it in case things get really cold. Pair oversized tops and elongated layers with slimmer bottoms; something that works really well these days. Stay consistent with those proportions throughout your outfit and don’t shy away from chunky sneakers that provide just as much support as they do style.
