The RapidE is going to be the first-ever Aston Martin electric car, and may begin production in as little as two years. Based on the four-door Rapide, the fully-electric RapidE will pack a 1,000-HP engine and go 200 miles on a single charge.
The RapidE is being developed in collaboration with investment firm ChinaEquity, who agreed to fund its development with a generous $77 million, and an affiliate of the Williams Formula One team, who will develop the powertrain.
The RapidE may be priced as much as $250,000, but with most Teslas rolling out fully-loaded, we’re pretty sure there will be a market ready for it in a few years’ time. Check out the first Aston Martin electric car in the gallery below.
