314 Architecture Studio Designs the ‘C_29 / Optimist’ Optical Shop in Greece

C_29 Optimist Shop by 314 Architecture Studio-01

Located in Chalkida, Greece, the optical shop ‘C_29 / Optimist’ distorts the concept of space through its surfaces, mirrors, and masses. Designed by Athens-based 314 Architecture Studio, the shop uses textured surfaces, mirrors, angled walls, and prismatic sculptures to create the effect. The goal of the design was to emphasize the reflection and absorption of light, creating a truly unique eyewear fitting experience.

Customers walk from the central market outside, through the airy optical shop’s interiors, and onto a courtyard in the middle of the building. White is the predominant color used in the shop, paying homage to the original Inter-war building’s history.
