If the name ‘Skip Barber’ rings a bell, it’s because he founded the numerous driving and racing schools that bear his name all over the country. He’s also a Sports Car Club of America national champion, a Formula One racer, and the owner of the iconic Lime Rock race circuit in Connecticut. The newest Petrolicious episode features him and his favorite car, the beautiful and powerful Ferrari 275 GTB.
In the video, Barber reveals the history of the 275 GTB, his racing career, and how he saved the Lime Rock race course. It’s heartening to realize that Barber keeps the old race course well-maintained and suitable for top-level racing. For his efforts, the Lime Rock circuit is rightfully recognized in the US Register of Historic Places, and will host next year’s Northeast Grand Prix.
