Set in The Hole Gallery, OAK launched its Spring/Summer 2017 menswear line, a collection that serves as an intricate reflection of the artisans that surround the brand’s Brooklyn studio. The fashion is highly conceptual and is inspired by the continuous flow of effortless creativity manifest in both work and play – by the people who “wear paint splatters with pride as a connection to their craft.” Creative directors Louis Terline and Jeff Madlena have strived to offer a new kind of modern aesthetic that maintains its elegance while being as comfortable as it is functional. In line with the cutting-edge retailer’s tendency to uniquely reimagine classic staples, the collection is dominated by a play with proportion. According to the brand, “Shorts are shorter & longer, tees are tighter & looser. Garments are pulled by drawstrings or bound by belts, adjustable for all body types. Pants are cropped, shoes splattered.” Check out OAK’s SS17 collection in the gallery above.
