Instagram Has Now Added Stories To Its Explore Tab

Continuing to build on the success of Stories, Instagram looks to implement the Snapchat-inspired feature into its Explore page, allowing users to follow others based on their own Stories. Snapchat users have wanted a similar feature that allows them to go beyond the small pool of stories they have access to, being limited to just their group of friends. Instagram hopes to expand on the previous concept by placing a scrolling bar at the top of the Explore page, giving users continuous access to other Stories. Instagram has already stated that more than a third of its daily active users (300 million) make use of Stories. The social media powerhouse’s Director of Product Management Blake Barnes informs TechCrunch “some seek it out as the primary way they use Instagram. Some people view it as a dessert,” adding “it has the early signs of being a product people love.” Only time will tell us where the feature will go in the future.
