Last week GoPro announced it’s entry into the drone market with the Karma drone. Well now, DJI, creators of the popular Phantom drone line-up, have unveiled their latest “Mavic Pro” drone, which is sure to regain some of the spotlight that GoPro took from the leading drone manufacturers. Retailing at $999 USD, what’s most surprising about the new drone is not its capabilities and features — most drones can record in 4K — but the fact that they fit all of this technology onto a drone that can fold up to fit in the palm of your hand! The portable drone offers 4.3 miles of transmission range and includes an obstacle avoidance sensor to ensure that it will not be damaged from colliding with other objects. The Mavic Pro can be used in ActiveTrack mode, where it autonomously follows a set object and can hit top speeds of 40mph. With true 4K abilities, this drone is for both the professional and amateur photographer. It can be purchased at the DJI Store.
