Apple Unleashes Mac Studio, Studio Display, New iPad Air, And New Shades of Green for iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro
During their Peek Performance event, Apple unveiled a slew of new products, including the release of the Mac Studio, Studio Display, a new iPad Air, and a new shade of green for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro devices.
Mac Studio is one of the new releases that Apple is bringing us this year. Mac Studio is Apple’s “empower station” and is meant to be a totally new Mac desktop. It’s meant to be able to transform any space into a studio. The new Mac Studio will be offered in two different models. The first model is the M1 Max has 64GB unified memory, 400GB memory bandwidth, 10-core CPU, and up to 32-core GPU. The second model is the M1 Ultra which has a 20-core CPU, up to 64-core GPU, up to 128GB unified memory, and 800GB memory bandwidth. The M1 Ultra can actually support up to 18 streams of 8K ProRes 422 video playback. Pricing for these will start at $1999.
Studio Display is the new desktop display announced. This is meant to be used with the Mac Studio to create your full Mac desktop setup. The new display is a 27-inch 5K retina display with 14.7 million pixels. This new display comes features True Tone, an anti-reflective coating, and nano-texture glass It also comes with a 12MP camera and six speakers for cinematic sound. The pricing for the Studio Display starts at $1599.
iPad Air with Apple M1 Chip
The new iPad Air comes with the Apple M1 chip, a 12MP ultra-wide front camera with Center Stage, and it is 5G compatible. The new iPad Air also will come in five different colors: Space Grey, Starlight, Pink, Blue, and Purple. It features a 10.9inch Liquid Retina display, True Tone, P3 Wide Color, and an antireflective coating. They will be available in 64GB and 256GB options. The main piece of this new iPad Air is the M1 chip which has an 8-core CPU and 8-core graphics, plus this allows for the Air to have Smart HDR for better photos. It is meant to be much faster and has a better display for photos and videos than previous generations. Pricing for the new iPad Air starts at $599.
The iPhone SE is coming in for a revamp. The new iPhone SE comes in a 4.7” design and the A15 Bionic chip. Mentionable updates include improved battery life, it is 5G compatible, water-resistant, and has a durable design with the toughest glass seen in a smartphone. One of the biggest noticeable features of the new iPhone SE is the home button which made a reappearance in this new generation. It also features a lot of Pro camera features such as low lighting, slo-mo, portrait lighting, and portrait mode. The iPhone SE starts at $429.
iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro in Alpine Green
The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro were also announced and the biggest takeaway to start is that both of these phones will be offered in a new green color. The iPhone 13 comes in both a 6.1” and 5.4” display. Like most iPhone launches a big upgrade was the camera. There is a New Ultra-Wide camera that reveals more darkness in your photos, the Wide camera captures 47% more light, and a new sensor-shift optical image stabilization is meant to keep your photo steady even if you aren’t. It also features 2x the storage and a super retina display for brighter colors, and sharp images, plus up to 2 hours more of battery life.
The iPhone 13 Pro has many features of the iPhone 13 but with much more to it. The iPhone 13 Pro has a more powerful camera system, a super responsive display, the world’s fastest smartphone chip, and increased battery life. The iPhone 13 will be available in a 6.7” display and a 6.1” display. It has a Super Retina XDR Display with ProMotion. It is water-resistant and has a Ceramic Shield. The Pro camera is upgraded with next-level hardware that will change the way we shoot videos and photos. The Pro version also includes a light adjustment for photos, new zoom options, and the Cinematic Mode. The iPhone 13 Pro starts at $999.
