The Timex Waterbury Ocean Collection Is Made From Reclaimed Ocean Plastics

Timex unveils its Waterbury Ocean collection with summery colorways and classic styles made from ocean-sourced recycled plastic. With an environmentally conscious core message, the collection follows the reclaimed ocean plastics trend spearheaded by Swiss upcycling company #Tide.

Customers can choose from 37mm-wide and 42mm-wide reclaimed ocean plastic cases. Its design has the familiar tapering athletic lugs and the broad fluted bezel, though this iteration is definitely more casual. #Tide manufactured the reclaimed plastic material that showcases an array of lighter flecks that accent the darker base hue. Colorways include light sky blue, dark navy blue, pink, and gray.

The dial matches the colorways and textures of the cases and looks like clean, bright highlights. Only two lines of dial text can be seen to follow the monochromatic and minimalist effects. Timex fits the Waterbury Ocean models with three-link oyster-style bracelets that match the case, keeping the design light and airy.

The timepieces are powered by an unspecified quartz movement with a notoriously loud ticking sound. In addition, despite being inspired by marine life and the ocean, the Waterbury Ocean series is only rated for only 30 meters of water resistance.

The Timex Waterbury Ocean series can now be purchased through timex.com with a price tag of $99 each.
